Why did Neuralink create a Patient Registry UK?
We are committed to developing devices to restore autonomy to those with unmet medical needs with input from the communities and individuals we aim to serve. The Patient Registry UK allows us to determine your preliminary eligibility for future Neuralink clinical investigations in the United Kingdom, and contact you in relation to such clinical investigations, Neuralink and/or Neuralink’s technology.
Who can participate in the Patient Registry UK?
Anyone within the UK who is at least 18 years old, who is able to consent, and who has quadriplegia, paraplegia, vision loss, hearing loss, the inability to speak, and/or major limb amputation (affecting above or below the elbow and/or above or below the knee), is invited to participate in the Patient Registry UK.
What benefit do I gain from adding my information to the Neuralink Patient Registry UK?
If you submit a completed Patient Registry UK application, we may contact you about your Patient Registry UK application, your eligibility for future Neuralink clinical investigations in the United Kingdom, Neuralink and/or Neuralink’s technology.
What information is collected through the Patient Registry UK?
We collect the personal information you provide. In the Patient Registry UK questionnaire, we will ask about current and past medical information, demographics, education, work, and the assistive technologies you use.
How will my information be used and by whom?
We will not sell the personal information you provide to any third party. The personal information you provide may be used to determine your potential eligibility for future Neuralink clinical investigations.Your contact information may also be used to communicate with you about your Patient Registry UK application, Neuralink, Neuralink’s technology, and Neuralink clinical investigations in the United Kingdom. Only authorized Neuralink personnel with the appropriate privacy and confidentiality training who have a need to access your personal information for the purpose of the Patient Registry UK will be able to access the identifiable personal information you provide.
Does adding my information to the Patient Registry UK help me qualify for future clinical investigations in the United Kingdom?
We may use the information you provide to determine your preliminary eligibility for future Neuralink clinical investigations. Participation in the Patient Registry UK is however not a prerequisite or sufficient for later participation in a Neuralink clinical investigation in the UK. You will not be considered enrolled into any Neuralink clinical investigations and/or research by participating in the Patient Registry UK. You will be asked to review and sign a separate consent document before participating in any future Neuralink clinical investigation or research.
Can you tell me about current and/or upcoming clinical investigations?
We do not have any clinical investigations in the UK at this time. If you participate in the Patient Registry UK and we determine that you meet preliminary eligibility for future clinical investigations in the UK, we may contact you to inform you of these investigations.
How do I withdraw my consent for the Patient Registry UK?
Upon providing your consent to participate in the Patient Registry UK, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at patientregistry-uk@neuralink.com. Upon receiving your withdrawal request, Neuralink will stop any further collection and use of your data as soon as reasonably possible, and will delete your collected personal information within one (1) month of receipt of such request.
